Hi, I'm the tutor behind Scholae.
I started Scholae because I think many tutorial practices lack a good pedagogical model. Even in a world where artificial intelligence can supply quick answers and good-enough essays in an instant, I think tutors have a role to play by training students' skills and sharpening their minds. A good tutor can correct habitual errors and give a student not only particular knowledge, but habits and skills that endure.
Using a diagnostic approach: before beginning a relationship with any student, I evaluate where they need assistance, and then target the gaps in their knowledge in a personalized roadmap for success.
I'm originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, where I graduated from Marin Academy High School and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in the Writing Seminars from the Johns Hopkins University, where I was awarded the Lynn & Gray Poole Humanities Scholarship and received a Max Kade Center grant to study the German language in Berlin, and graduated with honors. In my free time I write fiction and poetry.
